Evan grew up in California. In college, he dabbled in sculpture and primatology before discovering his real passion for literature. At twenty eight, he finally left California, joined the Peace Corps, and headed to the Republic of Macedonia to teach English for three years where he learned to use a spoon as a bottle-opener and hike to secluded mountain monasteries using nothing but gesticulated directions. Upon returning to the U.S., Evan moved to Fort Collins to be with his partner Anna where they live with their two cats, a tomato plant, and seasonal waves of millipedes.
