Submit to Wolverine Farm Publishing.
Wolverine Farm Publishing is always seeking fresh writing and original ideas. Thank you for considering us.

Boneshaker always welcomes literary bicycle-related submissions. Please send your work as a Word document attachment via email to: boneshakeralmanac@gmail.com. If you are submitting artwork, send attachments as jpgs, gifs, or pdfs.

Please also, should you wish, visit us on Facebook and Twitter.

Boneshaker is available online or at bookstores, bike shops, and cafes in various parts of this fine country, and also via subscription.

Each issue of the Matter Journal is a handcrafted exploration of a specific theme. Submissions that do not acknowledge this theme—as wonderful as they might be—will be a sad interaction for all involved.

SUBMISSIONS TO THE NOMAD ISSUE ARE CLOSED.

SUBMIT either electronically (as attachment to mattersubmissions@gmail.com) or hardcopy to Wolverine Farm Publishing, P.O. Box 814, Fort Collins, CO 80522. If you sent a hardcopy and your work is accepted, you’ll likely be asked to provide an electronic version.

PROSE (fiction, nonfiction, interviews): up to 5000 words, double-spaced 12-pt font (such as Times New Roman, Garamond, or similar), title on first page, no name on manuscript, paginate.

POETRY: up to 5 pages, single-spaced okay, 12-pt font, titles of poems, no name on pages.

VISUAL ART (photographs, collages, paintings, illustrations): 300 dpi, prefer JPEG, TIF, PDF, submit electronically, either via e-mail or saved to a CD and mailed to us. Submit both color and B&W in case we choose your piece for cover, color insert, or all-color journal.

COVER LETTER: Include name, address, phone number, e-mail, and TITLES of pieces you’re submitting. Keep the letter short, bare-bones. Publications lists and advanced degrees don’t tell us much. The quality of your work is what matters most, but if you need to include any relevant background information to help us to better appreciate your piece, then fine, put that in, but for god’s sakes keep it short.

SIMULTANEOUS SUBMISSIONS are okay, but you’ll need to contact us ASAP if a piece you submitted to us has been accepted elsewhere.

RESPONSE TIME: We’ll let you know by e-mail when we’ve received your manuscript (it’s automatic if you submit online). As far as a decision regarding acceptance for publication, our response time is generally between 3 and 6 months after receipt. If you’ve had no word from us in over 6 months, feel free to contact us by e-mail or visit the office and bop us gently on the noggin.

PAYMENT: If your work is published, you’ll receive one free copy of the issue in which your work appears.

Fort Collins Courier exists because good news exists. The good news is that our community changes constantly. Our neighbors are innovative and creative. Amidst the dynamo of Fort Collins, we support these forward thinking activities, we applaud those who earn it. We are interested in good ideas paired with right action wherever they occur.

When necessary we also sound our horn to call attention to wrongheadedness and missed opportunity. We exist at a vibrant nexus between journalism and the literary arts. We believe in interviews, information, research, thoughtful exploration, and poetry.

We aspire to do better, to reinvent ourselves incessantly. We’re driven by our community, we encourage everyone to participate, to think, to write, to engage the issues at hand. We crave feedback and participation.

FORT COLLINS COURIER is a quarterly publication and is available for FREE at Wolverine Farm Bookstore and other fine establishments in the Fort.

If you have a story idea, pitch, poem, or problem for us to address please write Todd Simmons at todd@wolverinefarm.org.

Manuscripts

Wolverine Farm does not accept unsolicited book-length manuscripts. That said, we do encourage queries about interesting books that fit our mission of engaging humans more mindfully with the world around us. We strive to publish one to two books per year in addition to our regular publications. If you have specific questions please email Todd Simmons at todd@wolverinefarm.org.
