How to Read a Poem: An All-Levels Workshop

Join This Month’s Writer in Residence, Erica Reid in a poetry workshop.
To be a strong writer, it helps to be a strong reader. In this guided discussion we will use several
devices to help open up a poem—to start to understand not only “what does it mean” but also
“how does it work its magic?”
All levels of experience with poetry are welcome. Poems will be provided in class. Please bring
tools for brief writing exercises (sharing will be optional, if time permits).
