April 1 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Join us for this special evening with Kirk Knuffke and Brian Jasper Hull, as the bring their shared love of jazz, improvisation, poetry, blues and songwriting in a unique evening of live music that defies easy categorization. Expected the unexpected! There will be a $20 suggested donation for the concert that will take place upstairs at Wolverine Farm Publick House on Saturday, April 1 from 7-9 pm.
In addition to this performance, both Hull and Knuffke will be hosting The Art of Improvisation
and Songwriting, a two day interactive workshop at the Wolverine from April 1-2 (Registration here).

Guitarist and singer Brian Jasper Hull and trumpeter Kirk Knuffke first met in 1997 when Hull
was putting together the funk and jazz band Meadowlark Jivin. At the time, Knuffke was
attending Fort Collins High School and playing jazz in the school jazz ensemble. Hull recognized
something striking not only in the way Knuffke played but also in the earnestness of his being.
He had a swagger and confidence that most 17 year old musicians don’t have until much later
in life. Hull could tell that Knuffke was onto something.
Fast forward 26 years and both Hull and Knuffke have continued down their respective musical
paths. While Knuffke relocated to New York City, Hull’s band Meadowlark Jivin still plays in
Colorado and as a solo artist Brian Jasper Hull has made his mark on the Fort Collins music
scene. His new project, Jasper Grooves Collective released their first album Bird Watching in
2018 and the band is in the process of putting a new full length album together. Knuffke has
carved out a name for himself as an internationally known jazz cornetist, releasing over 20
albums over the past two decades.
So when Hull asked Knuffke if he would be interested in coming back to Colorado for a sort of
musical homecoming, he was thrilled that Knuffke answered with a resounding, yes!
