Pub Talk with Chris Myrick
August 9, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join us monthly for river-themed pub talks at the Publick House. In July we welcome Dr. Chris Myrick, a professor in the Department of Fish, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology at Colorado State University. He is trained as a fish physiologist and specializes in using fish physiology to solve applied management questions that arise with the management and conservation of local and regional fish populations. Chris and his graduate and undergraduate students have been working on the design, testing, and evaluation of fish passage structures and fish barriers since he started at CSU about 22 years ago and have been involved with a number of projects to improve the connectivity of local rivers, including the Poudre River. Chris got into fisheries management and conservation because of his love for all types of fishing and for being on, near, or in the water and, when he’s not spending time with his family or playing professor, is likely fishing, planning to go fishing, or wishing he was fishing. He has in the past been described as a pathological fisherman and has yet to meet a fish he didn’t think was super cool.
