Peter M. Brown is the Director of Rocky Mountain Tree-Ring Research (rmtrr.org), a nonprofit corporation he founded in 1997. His research involves use of tree-ring and other data to reconstruct fire, forest, and climate histories, and the application of such data to current issues in forest and fire management and restoration ecology. He received BA and MS degrees from the University of Arizona and a PhD degree in Forest Sciences from Colorado State University, where he also has served as an Affiliate Faculty member in the Department of Forest and Rangeland Stewardship and taught courses inForest and Fire Ecology and Dendrochronology.
