Wolverine Farm is now calling all artists, designers, sculptors, and manipulators of clothing and materials for the first ever Ecotone Fashion Show and Fundraiser. Apply by June 18th to participate in this iconic event occurring on the evening of August 18th.
This call is for all types of creatives and all types of fashion: make from scratch, alter what you have, or mold and sculpt from thrift store finds! Selected artists will be asked to create 2-3 outfits in honor of our beloved publication Civil/Wild: 1 Civil (ready to wear/casual), 1 wild (couture), and one outfit or piece to donate for our auction. Each artist will receive an honorarium of $50 and a materials stipend of $50.
We ask that you keep your 2-3 looks within this budget, be resourceful and creative and get weird! It is your responsibility to find the models to best strut your stuff. The fashion is for all bodies of all shapes, sizes, ages, and personalities.
The theme of this year’s show is Ecotone, defined and elaborated below.
Front Range communities and landscapes are changing. Or rather, communities here are change, this landscape is change. Here is where things meet and mix: plains and mountains, old and new, excess and austerity. If an ecotone is a meeting place between two worlds, then we here along the Front Range are reeling with emergences. The ground roils beneath our feet.
How do we meet the changing nature(s) of our world with grace and courage while holding on to the things that sustain us?
