Wolverine Farm Presents:
Songwriter Residency & Collaborative Record
Year of the River
As a part of our Year of the River initiatives, Wolverine Farm Publick house invites all musicians and songwriters to apply for our upcoming songwriter residency and collaborative recording project!
Participants will be writing original music inspired by the Poudre river and our relationships with this ecosystem and life force, engaging music and songwriting as a way of connecting to land, place, and ecological healing. Over the course of August and September, participants will meet regularly to work on their individual song, as well as collaborate with other artists to co-write other river songs. Artists will then work with a producer to record their songs to release a collaborative compilation record for the Year of the River, with proceeds going to raise funds for the Wolverine Farm non-profit.
To apply, artists must submit a partial or complete version of their original river inspired song. Descriptions of ideas for a song will also be accepted – your submitted song does not have to be finished but we want to hear your concept and know that you are committed to writing an original song for this project. Please also be ready to submit examples of your previous songwriting experience. Note that quality of actual recordings will not be an assessment factor, and all genres and styles of writers are encouraged to apply.
This residency will culminate with a record release celebration and fundraiser for Wolverine Farm, where resident writers will perform and bring their river music to our community.
